Do you want to learn how to knit socks? Do you suffer from second sock syndrome or do your socks turn out different sizes? Two-at-a-time, top-down socks are a great way to learn how to knit socks and are a fix for those common sock issues. This is also a great project to learn the magic loop method for knitting in the round.
During the class, you will make a pair of mini socks as you work through each step of sock knitting over the 4 sessions.
Supplies needed:
-
1 center-pull or 2 smaller balls of Fingering weight yarn- 70 yards total. The average skein of sock yarn will give you plenty of yarn to make the class project and a pair of medium women socks.
-
US #1, 36" circular needle (32-48" will also work). Gauge is not particularly important for the class project but will be for children and adult socks, so I recommend starting with US #0 if you are a loose knitter and US #1.5 if a tight knitter. You can also bring two circular needles if you don't want to use magic loop.
